Disrupting Anti-Jewish Ideas

Oren Jacobson (he/him), Co-Founder and CEO, Project Shema

Anti-Jewish ideas are spreading in through many parts of American society. These sentiments have become more widespread since the Hamas terrorist attack of October 7th, 2023 and the ensuing war in Gaza. At the same time, our communities are grappling with a rise in more traditional forms of antisemitism as well. Both “types” of antisemitism present serious challenges that must be addressed and, yet, many in our community, including many Jewish community professionals, don’t feel fully equipped to help address this challenge. This workshop is designed for professionals who are interested in refining skills and strategies to address antisemitism in their communities.

Participants can expect to:

  • Understand how and why anti-Jewish ideas often go unnoticed and unchecked
  • Learn a strategy for effective one on one engagement, with an emphasis on addressing anti-Jewish ideas present in discourse around Israel
  • Learn a strategy for leveraging the right relationships to help shift understanding and norms that may erode Jewish inclusion and safety
