Our mission at Living Classrooms Foundation is to strengthen communities and inspire children, youth, and adults to achieve their potential through hands-on education, workforce development, health and wellness, and community safety programs that use urban, natural, and maritime resources as “living classrooms.”
We welcome you to join us aboard the Mildred Belle to sail from the Inner Harbor to Fells Point. While you enjoy your lunch aboard the historic ship, you will learn about the history, economics, and ecology of the Chesapeake Bay, Anacostia, and Potomac Rivers; just as our student groups do aboard one of our “living classrooms”. After we dock at our pier in Fells Point, we will take a walking tour of our other living classrooms to include the Frederick Douglass – Isacc Myers Maritime Park, Bauer Workforce Opportunity Center and our East Harbor Campus.
