Torah “From” Heaven, Bread “From” the Earth? The Heavenly Act of Human Production — Text-based learning
How do we understand the Torah as divine revelation? Through a range of Jewish texts—from the early rabbis to contemporary scholars—we’ll bring our attention to the places “from” which Torah emerges, and investigate how our creative acts of interpretation can help us serve as collaborators with God. As we explore these texts, we’ll interrogate our assumptions about our role as receivers of revelation, investigating the human responsibility to create and shape Torah in its many forms.
