Leadership Opportunities

What’s behind the approach?

JPro serves the 120,000 professionals working in North American Jewish communal organizations. The Jewish Federations build flourishing Jewish communities. As we steward the flagship conference for our workforce, we aspire to put participants’ interests, concerns, and needs at the forefront of programmatic decisions.

It has been very exciting (and wonderfully overwhelming) to have exponential growth in interest from organizations and individuals across the sector who are eager to give back to the field by sharing their work and wisdom at the conference. This is a testament to all those who contributed to our most recent conferences in Detroit and Cleveland.

With several priorities in mind, we are proactively sharing the range of ways that we hope the conference will create venues for individuals and organizations to share with one another. These priorities are user-centered design, equity of access, and experimentation.

Leadership Opportunities for Organizations and Individuals

These are listed from the least to most structured, indicating whether the opportunity is geared to organizations or individuals. Jewish nonprofit organizations participating in any formal ways must be JPro Affiliates. Any organization that is not yet an affiliate may become one online today.

  • The conference schedule indicates times that are ideal for self-organized meetups. We encourage all participants to self-organize using the great functionality of Whova, the conference app, which will be available in early April.
  • The conference is convening affinity groups. In addition to those already in place, participants may suggest additional groups in the conference registration form and may indicate whether they are interested in facilitating the group should it identified as one that the conference will convene.
  • Experience Ambassadors will contribute to conference design. See here for more information and to self-nominate by December 12.
  • Exhibition tables and other sponsorship opportunities are open to JPro Affiliate organizations at a discounted rate.
  • We anticipate inviting session proposals for select breakout and small group experiences. Please ensure you are subscribed to JPro’s e-newsletter to receive more information.

Financial Guidelines for Presenters

With these guidelines, we seek to be transparent with all prospective presenters and their organizations.

Three priorities informed these guidelines:

  • Providing participants with opportunities to learn with outstanding teachers from within the Jewish nonprofit sector.
  • With gratitude that interest among members of the sector to present at the conference significantly exceeds the number of teaching slots, we are seeking to invite presenters whose organizations’ priorities will be advanced by a presence at the conference and are therefore able to invest financial resources in a staff member’s participation.
  • Establishing a framework for financial partnership that factors in differing financial capacities of organizations.

For organizations with employees teaching breakout sessions or being featured in other conference programs, the financial guidelines are as follows. (These guidelines do not apply to skill-based workshops, for which teaching is by invitation only.) We encourage organizations to contribute their resources to the greatest extent possible to continue to offer highly subsidized registration to all JPro members.

  • Organizations with budgets of $2M and above: Organization covers all expenses associated with conference participation.
  • Organizations with budgets under $2M: Conference can provide one night of hotel for those outside of commuting distance upon request.
  • Organizations with budgets under $1M and for which earned revenue for teaching and/or consulting comprises more than 50% of total revenue: Conference can provide one night of hotel for those outside of commuting distance upon request and can waive the registration fee.

The formal confirmation that you will present will include confirmation of financial arrangements.

Understanding that there may be extenuating circumstances, if you anticipate that these guidelines will not meet your organization’s needs, please let the conference team member with whom you are discussing a session know.

Please note that these opportunities and guidelines are subject to change.
